Do you get a mental block when you yourself have a clear canvas before you? And your children assert, β€œDraw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a rose, or sometimes a rainbow, however I’m stumped. I feel the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you likely to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the situation (besides our creativity) is that people have an outdoor stone driveway and exactly the same with your patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in all the small, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first time before I noticed, and now they know they can escape with it. Little tricksters…)

If there clearly was only one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely can it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a β€œmessy” activity with NO clean-up?!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with the kids for hours of nonstop fun!

And then one of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a several bricks on the house last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you intend to get a wash brush and work out how to obtain all of it off. This has been there for nearly annually now, and despite pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the day it happened. Perhaps I could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun β€œWow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better still, you are able to have a photograph from an additional floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!
