We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the issue (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor stone driveway and the exact same with this patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in every the small, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they could break free with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was only one item to have us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just could it be super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

And the other of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a few of the bricks on our home last year. That was a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you wish to get a wash brush and work out how to get everything off. It’s been there for almost annually now, and even with pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I suppose I really could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
