Can you get a mental block when you yourself have a blank canvas facing you? And your children say, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a rose, or sometimes a range, but then I’m stumped. I’m exactly the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you supposed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and exactly the same with this patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in every the tiny, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they are able to get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was only one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely can it be super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together our favorite sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic set of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that will keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And several totally cool interactive chalk art you do not want to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with the kids all night of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on the house last year. Which was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you want to get a wash brush and work out how to obtain all of it off. This has been there for pretty much a year now, and even with pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. Perhaps I possibly could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find loads of great ideas! And better still, you are able to have a photograph from another floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I enjoy these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find lots of fun ideas to help you create a whole new world in your driveway!
