We have a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the situation (besides our creativity) is that people have a patio stone driveway and the exact same with your patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in most the small, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on the house last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you intend to get a wash brush and figure out how to have everything off. It’s been there for nearly a year now, and despite pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I suppose I possibly could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
