Would you get a mental block if you have an empty canvas in front of you? And your children are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a rose, or sometimes a rainbow, however I’m stumped. I’m exactly the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently likely to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We have a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and the same with your patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they could escape with it. Little tricksters…)
If there clearly was only 1 item to have us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely is it super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!
We’ve pulled together the most popular sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic listing of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that’ll keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. Plus some totally cool interactive chalk art you don’t wish to miss!
So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all day of nonstop fun!
And then one of our baby sitters let the children colour a several bricks on the house last year. That was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you want to get a polish brush and work out how to obtain everything off. It’s been there for pretty much per year now, and even with pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. Perhaps I really could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??
This list is fantastic if you will need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better yet, you are able to have a photograph from another floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I enjoy these ideas!
From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to assist you create a whole new world in your driveway!
