Buying new idea that everyone in your household will love doing together outside?

This is one of my favorite methods for getting some oxygen with my three kids, while being creative and creating something beautiful for our neighbors.

Creating mosaic chalk art is really easy, and only requires two supplies and is a great creative outlet. Additionally it is really calming (which is something we all need right now in the world.)

Additionally it is a lovely way to fairly share messages and symbols of love and kindness along with your neighbors.

The response we’ve gotten to date for the giant mosaic chalk heart we placed on our garage has inspired my kids to believe up new ideas for our other two garage doors!

This can be a pretty straight-forward art project that won’t require many supplies, and likely you already ask them to in your home.

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

Painter’s tape (a 1.88 inch painter’s tape offers you smaller lines, a 3-inch painter’s tape was utilized in the picture shown which means that your lines are bigger and spaced out more.) Don’t worry, this won’t remove paint or leave a mess on your own painted surfaces, Sidewalk chalk in a number of colors, Bandana if you never desire to breathe in the chalk in the air while you’re filling out the spaces (optional), Arm strength

Where you decide on to place your chalk mosaic is important. You are able to put it on the sidewalk or your driveway, but do you want others to notice it?

Should you want to talk about the sweetness of one’s art with others, simply select a spot on your garage (like we did in the picture) or the medial side of your dwelling that’s within view of your street or you’ll see in the backyard when you yourself have guests over.

Painter’s tape will stick better on top of your dwelling or garage too, with regards to the form of ground you’re working with.

Find a style you like and commence to outline it with the tape. You may need to keep your pieces short in order to build in curves and roundness since painter’s tape is straight. Once you’ve finished the outline of one’s design, begin to run pieces through the middle to create various sized and shaped areas. A combination of big and small spread evenly through the design gives it balance. Once you are feeling you’ve finished your taping, it’s time and energy to start the fun part – filling it in with color!

Fill in each space on your own design, alternating colors and making sure there’s no spots which can be seen through the chalk. The better and thicker the coverage, the more your design will pop when the tape comes off! You will need to color the very best pieces of the mosaic with respect to the height of the kids, but why shouldn’t Mom and Dad be in the fun, too!

Once all of the spaces have now been filled completely with chalk, it’s time to take the tape off. Gently peel the tape off, going slow (although it’s not messy like paint and you don’t risk smearing anything), until all the tape has been removed. Then, stand back and admire the beautiful artwork you merely created.

When you’re ready to try it again, or consider a brand new design, simply spray it with a hose to have the chalk off and allow it dry.

Here’s the look we created on our garage door, below. It’s a giant heart. My kids have received so many compliments about how exactly wonderful it looks, but in addition, how touched people who are on walks through our neighborhood get the symbol in now of what our world is faced with.

Sidewalk art is a fun and creative way to produce art and be outside.Summer, weekends and school breaks are great times for kids to be able to build critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques, while doing something fun and engaging like making art. As kids get bored, while they often claim to accomplish, below are a few exciting ways to participate in the arts in an outdoor environment. You, too, will get on your own knees and join in the fun!

Many companies make sidewalk chalk products. I have discovered the most effective color coverage to be with Crayola products. Crayola’s products are non-toxic, easy to wash off an outside surface and made for children. Here are a few great ones.

The products can be found at most of the major retailers along with online. Along with the old-school colored chalk, there are products that are new and innovative as well.

Make sidewalk paint

Want to save lots of money and create your own personal materials? You can mix up a group of sidewalk paint with items you may have at home. Here is a great recipe for sidewalk paint that will inspire the young and old.

Homemade sidewalk paint

Jar with a top, Paint brushes, foam brushes or sponges, Mix all ingedients into a closed jar and shake well. You can make several colors this way, using individual jars.

If the paint appears dry, add a couple of more drops of water.
