Can you get a mental block when you yourself have an empty canvas in front of you? And your children assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a rose, or sometimes a range, but I’m stumped. I’m the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently designed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and exactly the same with our patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there is just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not only is it super inexpensive, but it’s ideal for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together our favorite sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic set of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that’ll keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. Plus some totally cool interactive chalk art you do not want to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your children for hours of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a several bricks on our house last year. That has been a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you intend to get a wash brush and figure out how to obtain all of it off. It’s been there for pretty much per year now, and despite having pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. Perhaps I possibly could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you’ll need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find lots of great ideas! And better still, you can have a photograph from another floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!
