Do you get a mental block when you have a blank canvas in front of you? And your kids assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but I’m stumped. Personally i think exactly the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you likely to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We’ve a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor stone driveway and the exact same with this patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in every the little, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)

And the other of our baby sitters let the children colour a several bricks on our house last year. That has been a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you want to get a polish brush and figure out how to get it all off. It’s been there for pretty much per year now, and despite having pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the day it happened. Perhaps I could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
