Would you get a mental block when you yourself have a clear canvas in front of you? And the kids say, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but then I’m stumped. Personally i think exactly the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you supposed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the situation (besides our creativity) is that we have a patio stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in most the small, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was only one item to have us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together our favorite sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic listing of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that will keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And many totally cool interactive chalk art you don’t wish to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with the kids all night of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the children colour a some of the bricks on our house last year. That was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you wish to get a polish brush and figure out how to obtain everything off. This has been there for almost per year now, and even with pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. Perhaps I possibly could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find lots of great ideas! And better yet, you can have a photograph from a second floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, there are tons of fun ideas to help you produce a whole new world in your driveway!

How to just make table art! LOVE this idea to change the drawing for every holiday or season !!
