Can you get a mental block if you have a clear canvas in front of you? And your children are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a rose, or sometimes a range, however I’m stumped. I’m the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been likely to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We have a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor patio stone driveway and exactly the same with your patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in every the little, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)
If there clearly was only 1 item to have us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s ideal for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all day of nonstop fun!
And then one of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a some of the bricks on our home last year. That was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you want to get a scrub brush and figure out how to have it all off. This has been there for nearly annually now, and despite having pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. Perhaps I could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
