Do you get a mental block when you yourself have a blank canvas in front of you? And your kids say, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a rose, or sometimes a rainbow, however I’m stumped. I feel the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently supposed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the situation (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and the same with your patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they can break free with it. Little tricksters…)

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on our house last year. That was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you want to get a wash brush and work out how to obtain all of it off. It’s been there for pretty much per year now, and despite pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the day it happened. Perhaps I really could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??
