Can you get a mental block when you yourself have a clear canvas facing you? And your kids say, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a rose, or sometimes a rainbow, but then I’m stumped. I’m exactly the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been supposed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and the same with our patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in every the little, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)
If there was only 1 item to have us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely is it super inexpensive, but it’s ideal for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your children all night of nonstop fun!
And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on the house last year. That has been a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you intend to get a wash brush and figure out how to get all of it off. This has been there for almost a year now, and despite having pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??
This list is fantastic if you will need a bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better still, you can take a photograph from an additional floor window and keep carefully the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!
From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to help you make a whole new world in your driveway!
