Would you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas before you? And your kids say, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, but I’m stumped. Personally i think exactly the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently likely to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a big box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the situation (besides our creativity) is that people have an outdoor patio stone driveway and the exact same with our patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they could break free with it. Little tricksters…)

If there clearly was just one item to have us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together the most popular sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic listing of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that may keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And many totally cool interactive chalk art you don’t wish to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your children for hours of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on our home last year. That has been a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you intend to get a wash brush and figure out how to get all of it off. It’s been there for nearly per year now, and despite pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I suppose I could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find lots of great ideas! And even better, you are able to have a photograph from an additional floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I love these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find lots of fun ideas to help you make a whole new world in your driveway!
