Would you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas facing you? And your kids are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, but then I’m stumped. I’m the exact same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been likely to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the problem (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and exactly the same with your patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in every the small, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can break free with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not only could it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

And the other of our baby sitters let the children colour a several bricks on our house last year. That was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you wish to get a scrub brush and figure out how to obtain all of it off. This has been there for almost per year now, and despite pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the day it happened. I suppose I really could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
