Do you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas facing you? And your kids are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a rose, or sometimes a range, but I’m stumped. I feel exactly the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been designed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the issue (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and the exact same with our patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in most the little, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they could break free with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely could it be super inexpensive, but it’s ideal for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

And the other of our baby sitters let the children colour a some of the bricks on the house last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you wish to get a wash brush and work out how to obtain everything off. This has been there for pretty much per year now, and even with pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??

This list is fantastic if you’ll need a bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better yet, you are able to take a photograph from a second floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I love these ideas!
