Would you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas in front of you? And the kids assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, however I’m stumped. Personally i think the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you designed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the situation (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor patio stone driveway and the exact same with this patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in most the little, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that first time before I noticed, and now they know they could break free with it. Little tricksters…)

If there clearly was just one item to get us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s ideal for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with the kids all day of nonstop fun!

And then one of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a several bricks on our home last year. Which was a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you intend to get a scrub brush and work out how to get everything off. This has been there for almost annually now, and even with pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I suppose I could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure!
