Do you get a mental block when you yourself have a blank canvas in front of you? And your kids assert, “Draw something! (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We have a big box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the situation (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor patio stone driveway and exactly the same with our patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)

And then one of our baby sitters let the kids colour a some of the bricks on the house last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you wish to get a scrub brush and work out how to obtain it all off. This has been there for almost annually now, and despite pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I guess I really could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
