Do you get a mental block when you yourself have a blank canvas in front of you? And your kids assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but then I’m stumped. I’m exactly the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently likely to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a big box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the situation (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor patio stone driveway and exactly the same with our patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there clearly was only 1 item to have us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s ideal for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together our favorite sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic list of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that may keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And several totally cool interactive chalk art that you do not desire to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all day of nonstop fun!

And then one of our baby sitters let the kids colour a some of the bricks on the house last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you wish to get a scrub brush and work out how to obtain it all off. This has been there for almost annually now, and despite pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I guess I really could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better yet, you are able to have a photograph from a second floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to help you produce a whole new world in your driveway!
