Do you get a mental block when you yourself have a blank canvas before you? And the kids are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a rose, or sometimes a range, but then I’m stumped. I feel the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been designed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor patio stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they are able to get away with it. Little tricksters…)

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a some of the bricks on our home last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you intend to get a wash brush and figure out how to get it all off. It’s been there for nearly annually now, and despite having pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I guess I could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??
