Would you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas facing you? And your children assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a rose, or sometimes a rainbow, but I’m stumped. I’m exactly the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been designed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and the same with your patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was only one item to get us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together well known sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic set of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that’ll keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And several totally cool interactive chalk art that you do not wish to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all night of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on our home last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you wish to get a scrub brush and figure out how to get it all off. This has been there for nearly a year now, and despite having pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I really could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find lots of great ideas! And better still, you can take a photograph from a second floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, there are tons of fun ideas to help you produce a whole new world in your driveway!
