Can you get a mental block if you have a bare canvas in front of you? And your kids assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, but then I’m stumped. I’m the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently designed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We have a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that people have a patio stone driveway and the exact same with our patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they are able to break free with it. Little tricksters…)

And then one of our baby sitters let the children colour a few of the bricks on the house last year. That has been a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you intend to get a polish brush and work out how to have everything off. It’s been there for nearly a year now, and despite having pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. Perhaps I possibly could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??
