Would you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas in front of you? And your children assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, but then I’m stumped. I feel the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been designed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that people have an outdoor stone driveway and the exact same with your patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in most the little, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely can it be super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together the most popular sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic set of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas which will keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And several totally cool interactive chalk art you don’t desire to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all night of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a some of the bricks on our home last year. That has been a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you intend to get a polish brush and figure out how to obtain everything off. It’s been there for nearly annually now, and even with pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I really could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better yet, you are able to have a photograph from a second floor window and keep carefully the memory as a keepsake! I love these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to help you create a whole new world in your driveway!
