Can you get a mental block if you have a bare canvas before you? And the kids are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, however I’m stumped. I feel the exact same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you designed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the situation (besides our creativity) is that people have an outdoor stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in most the tiny, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they could break free with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was only 1 item to get us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not only could it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together the most popular sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic set of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that will keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And several totally cool interactive chalk art you don’t want to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your children all day of nonstop fun!

And then one of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on the house last year. That has been a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you wish to get a polish brush and figure out how to have it all off. It’s been there for nearly a year now, and despite having pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I suppose I possibly could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find loads of great ideas! And even better, you can take a photograph from another floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I enjoy these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to help you produce a whole new world in your driveway!
