Buying new indisputable fact that everyone in your family will enjoy doing together outside?

This is one of my personal favorite methods for getting some fresh air with my three kids, while being creative and creating something beautiful for our neighbors.

Creating mosaic chalk art is truly easy, and only requires two supplies and is a great creative outlet. Additionally it is really calming (which is something all of us need at this time in the world.)

It’s also a beautiful way to talk about messages and symbols of love and kindness along with your neighbors.

The response we’ve gotten up to now for the giant mosaic chalk heart we put on our garage has inspired my kids to think up new ideas for our other two garage doors!

This is a pretty straight-forward art project that won’t require many supplies, and likely you already keep these things in your home.

Here’s what you’ll have to get started:

Painter’s tape (a 1.88 inch painter’s tape gives you smaller lines, a 3-inch painter’s tape was used in the picture shown which means that your lines are bigger and spaced out more.) Don’t worry, this won’t remove paint or leave a mess in your painted surfaces, Sidewalk chalk in a handful of colors, Bandana if you never wish to breathe in the chalk in the air while you’re filling in the spaces (optional), Arm strength

Where you select to place your chalk mosaic is important. You are able to wear it the sidewalk or your driveway, but are you wanting others to see it?

If you do want to share the wonder of one’s art with others, simply choose a spot on your own garage (like we did in the picture) or the medial side of your house that’s within view of one’s street or you’ll see in the backyard when you yourself have guests over.

Painter’s tape has a tendency to stick better on top of your dwelling or garage too, with respect to the type of ground you’re working with.

Find a style you like and commence to outline it with the tape. You will need to help keep your pieces short in order to build in curves and roundness since painter’s tape is straight. Once you’ve finished the outline of your design, begin to operate pieces through the center to produce various sized and shaped areas. A mixture of big and small spread evenly through the design will give it balance. Once you feel you’ve finished your taping, it’s time and energy to start the fun part – filling it in with color!

Fill out each space on your design, alternating colors and making sure there’s no spots which can be seen through the chalk. The higher and thicker the coverage, the more your design will pop when the tape comes off! You may want to color the most effective pieces of the mosaic with respect to the height of your children, but why shouldn’t Mom and Dad be in the fun, too!

Once all of the spaces have been filled completely with chalk, it’s time for you to take the tape off. Gently peel the tape off, going slow (although it’s not messy like paint and you never risk smearing anything), until most of the tape has been removed. Then, stand back and admire the beautiful artwork you just created.

When you’re willing to try it again, or think of a brand new design, simply spray it with a hose to have the chalk off and allow it dry.

Here’s the style we created on our garage door, below. It’s a huge heart. My kids have received so many compliments about how exactly wonderful it seems, but in addition, how touched people that are on walks through our neighborhood find the symbol in this time of what our world is faced with.

Sidewalk art is just a fun and creative way to produce art and be outside.Summer, weekends and school breaks are great times for children to be able to build critical thinking skills and problem-solving techniques, while doing something fun and engaging like making art. As kids get bored, because they often claim to accomplish, here are some exciting methods to take part in the arts in an outside environment. You, too, could possibly get in your knees and participate in the fun!

Many companies make sidewalk chalk products. I are finding the most effective color coverage to be with Crayola products. Crayola’s products are non-toxic, easy to scrub off an outside surface and designed for children. Here are a few great ones.

These products are available at most major retailers as well as online. Along with the old-school colored chalk, you can find products which are new and innovative as well.

Make sidewalk paint

Want to save lots of money and create your own materials? You are able to mix up a portion of sidewalk paint with items you might have at home. This is a great recipe for sidewalk paint that’ll inspire the young and old.

Homemade sidewalk paint

½ cup of water, ½ cup of cornstarch, Approximately 12 drops of food coloring — this can be adjusted to accomplish desired color

Jar with a lid, Paint brushes, foam brushes or sponges, Mix all ingedients into a sealed jar and shake well. You possibly can make several colors in this manner, using individual jars.

If the paint appears dry, add a couple of more drops of water.
