We have a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and the same with our patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely could it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your children for hours of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a few of the bricks on our home last year. Which was a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you intend to get a polish brush and figure out how to have everything off. It’s been there for almost a year now, and despite pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the day it happened. I suppose I possibly could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??

This list is fantastic if you need a little inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better yet, you can take a photograph from a second floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I enjoy these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, there are tons of fun ideas to help you create a whole new world in your driveway!
