We’ve a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that people have a patio stone driveway and exactly the same with your patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in most the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they can break free with it. Little tricksters…)

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a some of the bricks on our house last year. Which was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you intend to get a polish brush and work out how to obtain it all off. It’s been there for almost per year now, and even with pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
