Would you get a mental block when you have a clear canvas in front of you? And your children are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but I’m stumped. Personally i think exactly the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you likely to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We have a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor patio stone driveway and exactly the same with your patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached to their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they can escape with it. Little tricksters…)

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on our house last year. That was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you intend to get a polish brush and work out how to obtain everything off. It’s been there for almost per year now, and despite having pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I guess I could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
