We have a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to inform you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in most the small, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was only one item to get us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just can it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

And the other of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a few of the bricks on our home last year. That was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you want to get a polish brush and figure out how to get all of it off. This has been there for almost a year now, and despite pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I really could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??

This list is fantastic if you will need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find loads of great ideas! And better still, you can have a photograph from a second floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I enjoy these ideas!
