These sidewalk chalk ideas are very awesome! Seriously, some people so creative!? You can find so many fun ideas and so many great photo opportunities! I wish we had an asphalt driveway so we will try more of these out at home!
Do you get a mental block if you have a bare canvas in front of you? And your children say, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a rose, or sometimes a rainbow, however I’m stumped. I’m exactly the same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you supposed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We’ve a huge box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in every the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls in there too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)
If there clearly was just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely is it super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better when compared to a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!
We’ve pulled together our favorite sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic list of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that’ll keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. Plus some totally cool interactive chalk art that you don’t desire to miss!
So grab your box of chalk and head outside with the kids for hours of nonstop fun!
And then one of our baby sitters let the kids colour a several bricks on our home last year. Which was a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you intend to get a wash brush and work out how to get all of it off. It’s been there for pretty much a year now, and even with pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. Perhaps I really could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??
This list is fantastic if you will need a little inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find lots of great ideas! And better yet, you are able to take a photograph from a second floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I enjoy these ideas!
From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find lots of fun ideas to assist you produce a whole new world in your driveway!
