Draw something!” – I usually wind up drawing a flower, or sometimes a rainbow, but I’m stumped. I’m the exact same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been supposed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a big box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and the same with your patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in most the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture to the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there is just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not only is it super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

And the other of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a some of the bricks on our house last year. That was a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you wish to get a wash brush and figure out how to get it all off. This has been there for nearly a year now, and despite pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I suppose I could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??
