Chalk is such a fun solution to be creative! It’s a beautiful texture, many colors, and may be used to draw on almost any surface, which makes drawing on a massive canvas exciting and different. Below are a few fun chalk art ideas and playful learning activities to use with chalk!
For a few fun on the sidewalk, try making these scented sidewalk chalk paints! They’re an enjoyable messy play activity for little kids wanting to own some color mixing, sidewalk painting fun.

These sidewalk chalk ideas are so awesome! Seriously, some individuals so creative!? There are so many fun ideas and so many great photo opportunities! I wish we had an asphalt driveway so we’re able to try more of these out in the home!
Do you get a mental block when you yourself have a blank canvas in front of you? And your children assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but then I’m stumped. I’m the same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been supposed to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the situation (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor stone driveway and the same with our patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not likely to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can escape with it. Little tricksters…)
If there clearly was only 1 item to get us through the long summer days, it will be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not merely can it be super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!
We’ve pulled together well known sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic listing of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that’ll keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And many totally cool interactive chalk art you do not desire to miss!
So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your children all day of nonstop fun!
And then one of our baby sitters let the kids colour a few of the bricks on the house last year. That has been a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you intend to get a polish brush and work out how to have all of it off. It’s been there for pretty much per year now, and despite having pelting rains and plenty of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I suppose I really could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??
This list is fantastic if you need a little inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And even better, you are able to take a photograph from another floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!
From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to help you create a whole new world in your driveway!
