Would you get a mental block if you have a bare canvas facing you? And the kids are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but I’m stumped. I’m the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been likely to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the issue (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the kids take the chalk colours and fill in every the tiny, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls within too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they could escape with it. Little tricksters…)

If there is only 1 item to have us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not only is it super inexpensive, but it’s great for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than a “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all night of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the youngsters colour a few of the bricks on our home last year. That has been a negative idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you intend to get a wash brush and work out how to get all of it off. This has been there for pretty much per year now, and despite having pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. Perhaps I possibly could find a scrub brush and scrub it off, but who has enough time for that??
