Would you get a mental block if you have a blank canvas facing you? And your children assert, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, but then I’m stumped. I’m the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently designed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the facts, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I do believe the problem (besides our creativity) is that we have an outdoor patio stone driveway and exactly the same with our patio in the backyard. So the youngsters take the chalk colours and fill in all the tiny, rectangular bricks in different colours. Sometimes they venture into the play house attached with their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not supposed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there clearly was only one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just is it super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together our favorite sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic set of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that’ll keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And many totally cool interactive chalk art that you don’t desire to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all day of nonstop fun!

And then one of our baby sitters let the kids colour a few of the bricks on our house last year. Which was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your property unless you want to get a polish brush and figure out how to obtain all of it off. It’s been there for nearly annually now, and despite pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. I suppose I possibly could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??

This list is fantastic if you need a little bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And better yet, you are able to have a photograph from a second floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find lots of fun ideas to help you make a whole new world in your driveway!
