Can you get a mental block when you yourself have a bare canvas in front of you? And your children are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually end up drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, however I’m stumped. I’m the exact same way with a huge blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What have you been designed to draw on a huge blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).

We have a big box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to share with you the reality, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I think the situation (besides our creativity) is that individuals have a patio stone driveway and the same with this patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in most the tiny, rectangular bricks in various colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that first-time before I noticed, and now they know they can get away with it. Little tricksters…)

If there was just one item to obtain us through the long summer days, it could be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not just is it super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!

We’ve pulled together the most popular sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic listing of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that may keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. Plus some totally cool interactive chalk art you never desire to miss!

So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids all day of nonstop fun!

And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a some of the bricks on our house last year. That has been a bad idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your house unless you intend to get a polish brush and figure out how to obtain it all off. This has been there for pretty much a year now, and despite pelting rains and a lot of snow storms it’s as bright as your day it happened. Perhaps I could find a polish brush and scrub it off, but who has the full time for that??

This list is fantastic if you’ll need a bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from the boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! There are tons of great ideas! And even better, you can take a photograph from an additional floor window and keep the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!

From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find lots of fun ideas to help you produce a whole new world in your driveway!
