Can you get a mental block when you have an empty canvas facing you? And the kids are saying, “Draw something! Draw something!” – I usually find yourself drawing a flower, or sometimes a range, however I’m stumped. I feel the exact same way with a giant blank driveway and sidewalk chalk, except it’s so much worse! What are you currently likely to draw on a giant blank driveway!? (I’d probably still draw my typical flower and rainbow…).
We’ve a large box of sidewalk chalk sitting in the closet right now. But to tell you the truth, we aren’t NEARLY this creative with it. I believe the issue (besides our creativity) is that individuals have an outdoor patio stone driveway and the same with our patio in the backyard. So the children take the chalk colours and fill in all the little, rectangular bricks in numerous colours. Sometimes they venture in to the play house attached for their swing set and they’ll colour the walls inside too (they’re not designed to, but wow, they really moved fast that very first time before I noticed, and now they know they could get away with it. Little tricksters…)
If there was just one item to have us through the long summer days, it would be Sidewalk Chalk for the win. Not only could it be super inexpensive, but it’s perfect for all ages and has unlimited play potential. And really, what’s better than the usual “messy” activity with NO clean-up?!
We’ve pulled together well known sidewalk chalk ideas into an epic list of learning activities, games, imagination spark-ers, and get-them-active ideas that will keep your chalk repertoire fresh all summer long. And many totally cool interactive chalk art that you do not desire to miss!
So grab your box of chalk and head outside with your kids for hours of nonstop fun!
And the other of our baby sitters let the kids colour a few of the bricks on our house last year. Which was a poor idea. Don’t colour the bricks on your home unless you intend to get a wash brush and figure out how to obtain everything off. It’s been there for pretty much annually now, and even with pelting rains and lots of snow storms it’s as bright as the afternoon it happened. I guess I really could find a wash brush and scrub it off, but who has the time for that??
This list is fantastic if you’ll need a bit of inspiration to take your sidewalk chalk from a boring game of X’s and O’s or hopscotch to a fun “Wow, that’s so amazing!” adventure! You will find loads of great ideas! And better still, you are able to take a photograph from an additional floor window and keep consitently the memory as a keepsake! I really like these ideas!
From princess crowns to under sea adventures, you will find loads of fun ideas to help you produce a whole new world in your driveway!
